The days are getting longer, and I have heard a few birds chirping — both signs of spring — but the snow on the ground and continued cold temperatures tell another story. Snow aside, the MTI team is in full-fledged planning mode. As I mentioned last month, we are pleased to announce our in-person networking event held in collaboration with Startup Maine Week on May 21, 2025, from 4:30-6:30pm at the Maine Center in Portland. We look forward to shining a light on our diverse community of portfolio businesses and partner organizations. As part of the celebration, we will select fifteen businesses from across our seven technology sectors to exhibit. If you would like to be considered as an exhibitor, please complete this form by March 21, 2025. More details to follow, but we are excited to showcase some of MTI’s amazing portfolio companies.
Earlier this month, the Maine State Chamber of Commerce held its leadership summit at the Samoset in Rockport. The event convened entrepreneurs, industry experts, policymakers, and community leaders from across the state to discuss relevant topics. I was invited to participate in an innovation panel and was delighted to share stories of some cutting-edge Maine businesses.
Also earlier this month, MTI presented its fiscal year 2024 annual report to the Maine Housing and Economic Development Committee. While the composition of that committee has changed, MTI’s positive reception has remained constant, an important barometer as an industry-led, State-funded, nonprofit corporation.
Here’s to warmer temperatures heading our way, but in the meantime, I hope you have an opportunity to get outside and enjoy the snow.
Best,
Brian
