Greetings from MTI.
The MTI team has been steadfastly working this past year on a consequential project to redesign and revamp its website and I am pleased to report that the new and improved site was finally revealed last week. The site’s functionality, messaging, and appearance now more aptly reflect the mission and image of a leading edge technology organization.
I encourage you to check out the site at mainetechnology.org and provide us any feedback on the design or content. We will update the site continuously – – adding new features, graphics and substance – – including enhanced video content. Please let us know if you discover any difficulties accessing information about MTI or its programs. And, please join me in commending MTI’s Web Communication Manager, Patti Sutter, for leading the effort on the redesign.
While you are on the new site, please visit the news link at the top to learn about some exciting accolades and developments occurring at some of MTI’s portfolio companies. Specifically, learn how an MTI investment has helped Blue Ox Malthouse realize its vision of producing locally sourced malt for Maine’s craft beer and distilling industries – the company’s open house and ribbon cutting ceremony is tomorrow.
Also, please note that Bixby & Co, Maine’s innovative craft candy bar producer and MTI portfolio company, has been named a 2016 Good Food Award Finalist by the Good Food Retailers Collaborative. Bixby is one of 8 Maine finalists for the award.
Finally, it was exciting to read the Mainebiz story titled, “Investment in Maine Companies Rises Sharply,” to learn that venture capital investment in Maine companies increased almost “fivefold” from $18.67 million in 2014 to $88.17 million in 2015. Academic Merit of Falmouth, an MTI portfolio company, was recognized in the story for attracting more than $1 million in equity investments this past year.
Again, sensational things are occurring daily in Maine’s innovation ecosystem. Check the MTI website regularly to stay abreast of potential funding opportunities and news about amazing Maine companies.
Best,
Brian
